Our Story

Amate streetwear was born from the heart of a young Mexican-American dreamer who wanted to create more than just clothes — a message! Founded in Los Angeles by a 20-year-old college student studying Fashion and Project Management, Amate began as a project of love: love for culture, love for identity, and most importantly, love for oneself. 

The word Amate means “Love Yourself” in Spanish, a simple yet powerful reminder that self-love is not selfish; it’s healing. 

Inspired by our roots, we blend modern streetwear with traditional Latino symbolism fashion, incorporating colors and messages that celebrate who we are. From marigolds to affirmations, every design tells a story of pride, positivity, and purpose. 

At Amate, we believe in creating more than fashion; we’re building a community that uplifts mental health, encourages authenticity, and celebrates heritage. Each piece is a small act of love, a reminder to be gentle with yourself, to honor where you come from, and to keep growing.
